The Green Bay Packers didn’t win nine of their first 12 games solely by relying on the team’s star power, as there have been a number of players who have excelled at their job under the radar.

Matt LaFleur has done a great job of getting contributions from players up and down his roster since arriving in Green Bay and the 2021 season is no different. Here are six unsung heroes for the Packers, as they wrapped up their Week 13 bye.

These six members of the Green Bay Packers haven’t received enough praise for their great contributions to the team so far this season.

Packers’ unsung heroes: Marcedes Lewis

Marcedes Lewis has flown under the radar since arriving in Green Bay in 2018. He’s not much of a pass-catcher–never racking up more than 19 receptions in a single season since signing with the Packers–but he does all of the dirty work.

He’s basically a sixth lineman out there, as he’s very adept at both pass and run blocking. He ranks in the top 25 in run block and pass blocking grades among all tight ends according to PFF. Green Bay will sneak him out on a pass route every now and then and he’ll show off his terrific hands. At a position that has experienced a lot of flux in recent seasons, Lewis has been the constant rock.
