Packers prediction for playoff seeding: Top overall seed

If the Packers can win their final five games of the season and finish with a 14-3 record, they should be able to secure the top seed in the NFC playoffs and get a first-round bye for the third-straight year.

They will need some help, however, as the Cardinals are currently one game better than the Packers. The good news is Arizona has a much tougher schedule with a Week 14 matchup against the Rams, Week 16 game against the Colts and a Week 17 contest against the Cowboys. If they lose just one of them and the Packers win out, Green Bay will own the tie-breaker.

Getting that extra week of rest will be important for the Packers’ health. Aaron Rodgers’ toe was clearly bothering him more and more in their last game and there’s no telling how it will feel in another month or so. Giving him and the rest of the guys a week off will do wonders for their bodies and hopefully set them right for the stretch run.
