Packers in final year of contract: Tyler Lancaster

Green Bay’s struggles on the defensive line the last couple of years have been, in part, due to Tyler Lancaster failing to live up to the contract extension he signed in 2018. He re-upped again last offseason for $1.25 million and is once again failing to live up to that expectation.

He’s having, perhaps, the worst season of his career in 2021, posting a PFF grade of just 51.1 which ranks 91st among 124 qualified defensive linemen. He hasn’t been good against the run or the pass and the Packers have been trying to upgrade from him for a while now.

With the drafting of guys like Kinglsey Keke, TJ Slaton and the acquisition of Jack Heflin, the writing is on the wall for Lancaster in 2022.
