Packers in final year of contract: Oren Burks

Oren Burks was a former 2018 third-round pick that never came to fruition for Green Bay. They hoped they could use his combination of athleticism and size to move from safety to inside linebacker but that never panned out for either party.

He’s spent the last couple of years primarily as a special teamer and deep on the depth chart on defense. That’s been his role once again and he’ll likely be looking for more playing time at his next stop. Burks is having the best year of his career according to PFF, but a 52.2 grade isn’t going to cut it.

The Packers have clearly moved on from him with their plans and his time to look for his next opportunity will come soon enough.
