Free agents Packers should look into: Mitchell Schwartz, OT

Mitchell Schwartz was one of the best right tackles during his prime run with the Kansas City Chiefs and is still very interested in playing football again.

He’s been recovering from a season-ending injury he suffered last season and has kept in football shape. He probably prefers going back to the Chiefs, but it’s certainly worth the Packers’ time to check in on his health and see if he’s interested in joining them for the stretch run.

Schwartz could come in and start at right tackle, kicking Turner to right guard or left tackle depending on how the Packers want to handle that. It would be yet another shuffle for a unit that’s experienced it all season, but there’s no question it would immediately upgrade the talent upfront. It’s a risk worth taking that could pay off in a big way when the Packers face a fierce front seven in the playoffs.
