Free agents Packers should look into: Da’Shawn Hand, DL

The Detroit Lions recently released Da’Shawn Hand and the Packers should be all over him after he clears waivers.

The Packers’ defensive line desperately needs help. Kenny Clark has been the only consistent performer as Kingsley Keke, Tyler Lancaster and others have struggled (Dean Lowry has had his moments this season, to be fair). Adding another capable big body up front would do wonders for every level of the defense.

Hand has only appeared in three games for the Lions this season, but he could be a block-eater for the Packers. He’s 6-foot-3 and 297 pounds, demanding extra attention from the offensive line. That could open up more opportunities for De’Vondre Campbell and the rest of their linebackers to make plays.
