Packers who have exceeded expectations: Randall Cobb

In order for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ front office to come to an agreement on their offseason standoff, Rodgers wanted some say in personnel decisions. And his first order of business was to re-acquire Randall Cobb.

It didn’t look like a difference-making move at the time considering Cobb’s declining success with other organizations since he left Green Bay. However, he’s been rejuvenated in Title Town and has come up clutch at just the right moment.

In 12 games this season, he has 28 receptions for 375 yards and five touchdowns. That may not seem like much, but he’s been a great situational target for Rodgers on third down and in the red zone. The veteran had four receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in the first half on Sunday before exiting with a groin injury. While we wait to find out the seriousness of the injury, we can still appreciate what he’s brought to the Packers this season.
