Packers who have exceeded expectations: Rashan Gary

Many fans and analysts questioned why the Packers used a first-round pick on Rashan Gary who was a practice star at Michigan but rarely transitioned that success to actual collegiate games.

Well, we have to wonder no more.

Gary has been a stud for Green Bay, filling in as a full-time starter for the injured Za’Darius Smith. He may not have the raw sack numbers like other edge rushers do (he’s only got 6.5 on the season), but he gets constant pressure on the quarterback. Gary’s 29 total pressures are already 10 more than he had a season ago. He’s coming into his own at just the right time and should be able to benefit from a week off to improve the health of his elbow.
