Green Bay Packers WRs: Can the receivers not named Adams step up when called upon?

With Davante Adams and Aaron Jones in the passing game, along with the run game, there really aren’t a whole lot of extra targets to go around.

So when it comes to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, and Equanimeous St. Brown, they’ll need to make the most of their opportunities when called upon–which up to this point in the season, they have, for the most part.

As the deep threat, MVS is averaging 18.2 yards per catch this season hasn’t been credited with any drops, according to PFF. More often than not, if he and Rodgers have been unable to connect, it’s been because of Rodgers. Cobb remains uber-reliable on third downs and in the red zone, while we’ve seen some explosive plays recently from St. Brown.

Lazard’s recent performances have been the outlier as he’s had a few drops, but given how dependable he has been over the years, I’m guessing that’s a blip on the radar rather than a trend developing.

Every question asked here today is centered around maximizing this offense. Although in most games we aren’t going to see any of these players put up huge numbers, they are all going to play key roles in converting those winning football plays, as Rodgers calls them.

Whether that’s picking up six yards when the team needs five, finding an opening in the defense while Rodgers is scrambling, or any number of other things that can occur during a game, when your number is called, you need to make those plays.
