Marquette Basketball Takeaway No. 2: Justin Lewis looks like future NBA player
Justin Lewis is one of only three scholarship players on the Golden Eagles roster with a varsity letter. He was also Marquette’s returning leading scorer to play in a Golden Eagles uniform.
The 6’7” Baltimore native is considered a legit NBA prospect. He came into this season hoping to build up his draft stock.
Marquette's Justin Lewis has the physical profile that NBA teams are looking for in players: Long wingspan, big hands, strong frame.

Now the second-year player is looking to translate all those tools into on-court success this season for #mubb.https://t.co/nZfXLCMa70
Through eight games, his NBA stock is rising. He is currently the 35th best prospect according to ESPN.com.
His play and numbers are backing that up. He is averaging 16.1 points per game and eight rebounds a night. He has had three double-doubles this season and has scored in double figures in all but one of the eight games so far.
He was outstanding against Ole Miss with 21 points, nine rebounds, and hit five three-pointers. His game is blossoming to where he will most likely be playing NBA games at Fiserv Forum either next season or the following.
19-year-old sophomore Justin Lewis has taken a huge step so far this season, emerging as Marquette's leading scorer (17.3 PPG) and evolving into a legitimate floor spacer (34.4% 3PT%) after shooting 22% 3PT% a season ago. More from @Mike_Schmitz >> https://t.co/DQg99yxIfM pic.twitter.com/PfxTcihb2S

His advanced statistics are up this season. He has a 24.3% usage rate and a 53% effective field goal percentage. His offensive rating is 108.1 and his defensive rating is at 88.4.
The Marquette Golden Eagles will need him to continue to play at that level to sustain success through the rest of the season.
