7 weaknesses for Packers to address heading into bye week
Weaknesses for Packers to address: Red zone offense
The other side of the ball is having some of the same issues, especially when it comes to the red zone. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett termed this area of the field the gold zone based on the Austin Powers movie and the Packers thrived in this area a year ago.
They haven’t been able to replicate the same success this season and have tried to figure out the issue all season long. In 47 red zone attempts, they’ve only scored a touchdown on 26 possessions–a 55.3 percent conversion rate that ranks a measly 25th in the league.
Green Bay has the personnel and offensive play-callers to improve that number and they demand that of themselves. Following their victory over the Rams, Aaron Rodgers talked about how the offense should’ve had 40-plus points in each of their last two games if they executed in that area of the field. Expect Matt LaFleur to have some new tricks up his sleeve when they all return.
