Weaknesses for Packers to address: Slot corner

Another position that has been swamped with injuries is cornerback. Jaire Alexander went down in Week 4 and hasn’t returned. There’s no exact timetable for his return even if Green Bay is optimistic he’ll return this season. Kevin King has also been in and out of the lineup with injuries–per usual.

Fortunately, rookie Eric Stokes and practice-squad addition Rasul Douglas have stepped up on the outside.

Unfortunately, Chandon Sullivan continues to be a weakness in the slot. The Los Angeles Rams had success targeting him on Sunday, specifically when he gave up a 79-yard touchdown reception to Van Jefferson. His PFF grade of 56.4 ranks 94th out of 118 eligible cornerbacks and he’s allowing a reception on 70.8 percent of his targets. Great teams like the Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will target Sullivan time and time again. Maybe the solution is to put Alexander in the slot if/when he returns? Let’s hope it’s that simple.
