7 weaknesses for Packers to address heading into bye week
The Green Bay Packers survived the toughest part of their schedule and head into their Week 13 bye week with a 9-3 record, second in the NFC behind the 9-2 Arizona Cardinals.
After making the NFC Championship game in each of the past two seasons, it’s not enough for this squad to simply get back to that mark. They have their sights set on representing their conference in the Super Bowl and must address these seven weaknesses if they want to make that goal a reality.
If the Green Bay Packers want to get ready for a Super Bowl run following their bye week, they must address these seven weaknesses.
Weaknesses for Packers to address: Field goal unit
This area isn’t completely pinned on Mason Crosby even if he’s the face of the field goal operating unit. Crosby has missed nine field goal attempts (most in the NFL) and has the lowest field goal percentage among any kicker who has attempted at least six field goals in 2021.
The failures are not squarely on him, as he’s had to work with a new holder to begin the season and a change in long-snapper midway through. He’s also had two field goals blocked because of the protection ahead of him. Green Bay can ill-afford to have an unreliable kicking game come playoff time. This unit needs to take the time to get things right over the off week.
