Will David Stearns stick around?

David Stearns is in the final year of his contract as the president of the Brewers and his services will be in high demand if he isn’t able to come to a contract extension with the Brewers.

Stearns has done great things in Milwaukee and consistently does more with less. He’s helped turn the Brewers into a perennial playoff contender despite significant financial limitations. Imagine what he could do with more resources.

The New York Mets have been in hot pursuit of Stearns, but Milwaukee has denied them any opportunity to interview him. However, a trade isn’t completely out of the question. If the Brewers are going to lose him next season anyway, they might as well look at trading him and getting some valuable assets in return.
