Despite having one of the best records in the entire NFL, the Green Bay Packers didn’t have a single top vote-getter in the NFL’s first round of fan voting for the 2022 Pro Bowl.

At 8-3, Green Bay has a comfortable lead in the NFC North and sits in second place in the NFC only behind the 9-2 Arizona Cardinals. The Packers are bunched with a number of other teams near the top including the 7-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 7-3 Dallas Cowboys and 7-3 Los Angeles Rams whom they play this weekend.

Typically, teams at or near the top of the standings get a lot of love in the fan portion of the Pro Bowl vote, but that wasn’t the case in the first round. No Packers appeared in the results the NFL released of top vote-getters by position.

No players on the Green Bay Packers appeared on the first round of the NFL’s 2022 Pro Bowl voting results released this week.

Aaron Rodgers, the reigning MVP and one of the most popular players in the NFL, wasn’t listed with the quarterbacks–Josh Allen and Tom Brady were the two leaders. Perhaps, his covid-19 debacle and the summer drama that took place detracted from his popularity.

Davante Adams, the best wide receiver in the game, didn’t receive any love either. He hasn’t had nearly the amount of drama Rodgers has and has a whopping 72 receptions for 979 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games this season. Instead, rookie Ja’Marr Chase and Cooper Kupp lead the wide receivers.

Other guys who could be in the mix such as Jaire Alexander, David Bakhtiari and Za’Darius Smith are all injured and have missed all or most of the season. That’s obviously been a big blow on the field and likely hurt the Packers in the fan voting as well.

The top-5 vote-getters were ex Wisconsin Badger Jonathan Taylor, Kupp, Travis Kelce, Myles Garrett and Trevon Diggs. The Dallas Cowboys were also the team who received the most votes.

Fan voting continues for another couple of weeks and concludes on December 16th. The final rosters will then be announced on December 20th. Hopefully, the Packers can make a dent in the vote by that time and someone can make an appearance. My money is on Adams.
