Under the radar free agents for Brewers: Gregory Polanco, RF

It will be interesting to see what the Brewers do in their outfield this offseason. Avisail Garcia already declined his portion of the mutual option and is an unrestricted free agent. Milwaukee still has a bunch of money tied up into Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain and Jackie Bradley Jr with the latter two’s contract expiring after the 2022 season.

They could try to bring back Garcia or go for another semi-high profile free agent. Another route they could go is to try to acquire someone for a platoon. That guy could be Gregory Planco.

Milwaukee could likely sign Polanco to a spring training deal with the potential to earn his way onto the final roster considering he was cut by the Pirates in August. He could help address the Brewers’ hitting woes if he can correct some portions of his swing. He makes hard contact, but it far too often results in a ground ball or pop-up. Maybe the Brewers’ new hitting staff could help with that.
