Players Brewers could reunite with in free agency: Jonathan Villar

Jonathan Villar spent the 2016, 2017 and most of 2018 seasons with the Brewers as their utility man. He could play all over the field including shortstop, second base and outfield. That’s exactly what Craig Counsell wants and is why Milwaukee could bring him back.

Villar is an average at best hitter with below-average power and still some ability to swipe bases. He’d be a backup for Milwaukee, but could contribute at all three infield positions as well as the outfield. He’s not a great defender, but he’s serviceable all around. The best part is he’s extremely affordable and right within the Brewers’ budget.
