Packers’ unsung heroes: Marcedes Lewis

Marcedes Lewis is technically listed as a tight end, but he’s basically a sixth offensive lineman when he’s on the field. He’s that good at blocking.

Lewis ranks 11th out of 72 eligible tight ends according to PFF with a 73.3 overall grade. He only has 12 receptions for 117 yards and no touchdowns this season, but he has good hands when the rock is thrown his way.

Of course, his blocking is his bread and butter. It doesn’t matter the situation–passing or running–Lewis is going to get the job done. That’s a tremendous asset for Matt LaFleur and this offense especially considering the season-ending injury to Robert Tonyan. Lewis is already a fan-favorite, but it’s time he receives more recognition.
