Brewers’ free agents to avoid: Kenley Jansen

Regardless of what happens with stud closer Josh Hader, the Milwaukee Brewers could reload their bullpen this offseason. President David Stearns recently commented that pitching will be the strength of the team once again so it makes sense they could go after a reliever to beef up the backend of their bullpen.

If that’s the route they go, they would be wise to avoid Kenley Jansen.

He’s been in a downward slide since 2018 which is now a three-year trend. He’s also 34-years-old so a rebound to his heyday is highly unlikely. He can still be a solid reliever but his name will command he gets paid a lot more than that. Milwaukee simply can’t afford to pay someone for what they have done instead of what they will do.
