Packers shutout Seahawks: The good, bad and grade
The Green Bay Packers had a dominating performance (at least as far as their defense is concerned) in their 17-0 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.
It was a slow offensive game, but two second-half touchdowns helped Green Bay secure a game on the scoreboard that felt like they were in control of the entire time. Here’s who played well, who struggled and the grades for each of the three phases.
Let’s review the Green Bay Packers’ shutout victory over the Seattle Seahawks by taking a look at the good, the bad and handing out grades.
Packers shutout Seahawks: The good: The entire defense!, Big plays on offense, Preston Smith and Rashan Gary, AJ Dillon
The Packers might have a real defense that can make some noise come playoff time. They’ve been playing better and better every week, as defensive coordinator Joe Barry has his guys ready. They’ve now given up 14 or fewer points in four of their last five games. Preston Smith and Rashan Gary have been a big part of that performance. Smith is solid against the run while Gary is an ascending player in the NFL. The duo each had a sack as well.
Although the offense struggled to get anything going, they did have a number of splash plays on offense. Marquez Valdes-Scantling caught a 41-yarder, Davante Adams had one go for 34 yards, Aaron Jones for 24 and AJ Dillon for 50. Speaking of Dillon, he’s going to be the perfect runner for Green Bay’s winter. He runs hard and is a big dude to take down. He had a strong performance against Seattle.
