Ultimate guide to Brewers’ offseason: Josh Hader situation

Milwaukee has to figure out what to do with stud closer Josh Hader this offseason. He’s eligible for arbitration again and projects to command $10 million in the process. He’ll also be far too pricey for the Brewers once he hits free agency.

The Hader trade rumors go back to last season and we’ll have another round this winter. Milwaukee’s typically great bullpen is already at risk of being thinner than normal and that’s counting Hader as a part of it. If they decided to depart with their closer, the bullpen will jump near the top of their needs list.

If they do decide to move him, it will be interesting to see what they’ll command in return. They could go the route of getting multiple solid role players to help fill in their offense and pitching holes. That’s probably the most likely route as a one-to-one trade with another star would be difficult to pull off.
