Ultimate guide to Brewers’ offseason: Key needs

Offense, offense, offense and more offense.

Milwaukee exited from the playoffs a lot sooner than they hoped because of their inability to drive in runs. That was a season-long issue for them that they thought they had figured out down the stretch. Unfortunately, it reared its ugly head at the worst time.

The Brewers have already begun addressing the issue by firing their hitting coach and hiring two in his place. They’ll also have to be creative in free agency. They have a lot of money locked into their outfield without the warranted production at the plate. They also have a number of guys in line for a big raise through arbitration and have to keep an eye on their long-term expenses as their core gets older and more expensive. This is usually when Stearns is at his best so we’ll see what he has up his sleeve this offseason.
