Packers’ grades at halfway point: Cornerbacks: B

It’s hard to grade the Packers’ cornerback room considering the amount of time Kevin King and Jaire Alexander have missed this season. The former has been pretty good in his last two games, but availability is the best ability. As for Alexander, he got off to an unusually slow start (compared to his standards) this season before a shoulder injury cost him significant time.

Rookie Eric Stokes’ natural talent oozes out to everyone watching him, but he’s made some boneheaded rookie mistakes. Rasul Douglas and Chandon Sullivan have filled in admirably, but they’re limited players.

Packers’ grades at halfway point: Safety: B-

Darnell Savage and Adrian Amos finished last year on fire and were one of the better safety duos in the NFL. Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to carry that success over into this season and have quietly started somewhat slowly.

Defensive coordinator Joe Barry also likes to have a third safety on the field a lot of the time. However, he hasn’t been able to find a reliable third option that allows him to move Savage around the field like he’d prefer.
