Milwaukee Brewers All-Time Team Starting Rotation:

2004 Ben Sheets

Sheets is one of the most iconic Brewers’ pitchers of all time, and there’s nothing more iconic than his workhorse 2004 season. That season is all over Milwaukee’s record books as the fourth-highest WAR for pitchers, fifth-highest ERA, third-best WHIP, seventh-highest hits per 9 innings, fewest walks per 9, and sixth-highest strikeouts per 9 (as well as the most overall strikeouts). What a great way to start the rotation.

2008 CC Sabathia

Despite only pitching for the Brewers for half a season, Sabathia gave the squad everything he had. Most of his starts down the stretch came on short rest, but that didn’t affect his performance. In 17 starts, he threw a whopping seven complete games and three shutouts. It’s no surprise had a basically non-existent ERA of 1.65 and a 1.003 WHIP.

2021 Corbin Burnes

Burnes will, hopefully, win a Cy Young award for his 2021 performance, but even if he doesn’t it was a magnificent campaign. He posted the seventh-highest WAR for a pitcher in Brewers’ franchise history, second-best ERA, best WHIP, second-best hits per 9, and the highest strikeouts per 9.

1986 Teddy Higuera

Higuera was a great addition to the Brewers’ staff and made his only All-Star appearance in 1986 as well as finishing second in the Cy Young voting. In 34 starts, he had 15 complete games and four shutouts to go along with a 2.79 ERA and 1.208 WHIP. He also gives Milwaukee a second lefty in the starting rotation.

2021 Brandon Woodruff

Maybe this is just recency bias, but Woodruff found a way into the starting rotation on the Brewers’ all-time team. The 6.5 hits per 9 innings he gave up is a Brewers’ single-season record and the rest of his advanced stats can be found in the top ten in multiple categories as well. This power pitcher is a great way to round out the rotation.
