Young players will have bigger roles for Wisconsin Basketball in 2021-2022

The Badgers will be much younger in 2021-2022.

Fans will get to breathe a breath of fresh air with a lot of new faces expected to see the court this season. A majority of the players on the roster are freshmen and sophomores.

Perhaps the newest player with the most intrigue will be freshman Chucky Hepburn. Hepburn is a 4-star recruit that may possibly be the starting point guard for the Badgers this season. In high school, Hepburn was All-State twice and advanced to the Nebraska State Tournament during all four years. Hopefully, he can bring some of that winning and leadership to the Badgers this season and in the future.

Some other younger players from last year’s Wisconsin team may be asked to step up as well. Ben Carlson, Steven Crowl, and Carter Gilmore may be asked to slide alongside Wahl or check-in for him when he needs a break. All three saw limited action last season, but it’s clear that at least one of them will need to be in Badgers coach Greg Gard’s plans for this season if the team wants to succeed.
