The Wisconsin Basketball team will look a lot different this season than it has in years past.

Over the last four years, Badgers fans have gotten to know the senior class that graduated following the 2020-2021 season. Only one player from that senior class opted to use their extra year of eligibility, granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Brad Davison will be returning for the Badgers in 2021-2022, as will some younger players from last season’s team.

With that, what can we expect from Wisconsin Basketball in 2021-2022?

Some quality pieces will be returning for the Badgers this season.

As previously mentioned, Davison will be returning for one final season in Madison. Most fans will be happy with seeing him back after seeing the leadership that he has brought to previous Badgers teams. Davison is almost an on-court coach, that can give the younger players pointers and possibly help to slow the game down for them if needed. Every team needs a leader like Davison, and that is part of what makes it so important to have him back on this year’s Wisconsin team.

Jonathan Davis will be returning for his sophomore season after a fantastic freshman campaign. Davis will be shouldering a much larger load this season with the departure of last year’s senior class. Davis played off of the bench in his freshman season and showed signs of becoming a future star. The Badgers will need those signs to become a reality if they look at being a contender in the Big Ten this season.

Tyler Wahl is also back at Wisconsin for his junior year. Wahl, similar to Davis, has shown signs of a potential star. In his first two years in Madison, Wahl’s minutes distribution has been inconsistent, with the forward and big positions crowded. With Aleem Ford, Micah Potter, and Nate Reuvers moving on to their professional careers, Wahl will get to enjoy all of the spotlight in the Badgers rotation this season.
