Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Manny Pina, C

Pina’s contributions to the Brewers go far beyond what we see on the field. As the primary backup to Omar Narvaez, he helped Narvaez round into shape behind the plate. That behind the scenes coaching was instrumental this season as Pina also did his part when he got playing time. It will cost a little extra money, but Milwaukee should re-sign him.

Prediction: Returns

Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Eduardo Escobar, 3B

Escobar was a solid trade-deadline acquisition for Milwaukee, but was somewhat outplayed by Luis Urias down the stretch. Considering Urias is under contract for 2022, it may make it difficult for the Brewers to willingly pay Escobar the money he’s looking for. Milwaukee is probably best using their limited resources to upgrade the offense in other ways.

Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Avisail Garcia, OF

The Brewers will be sad to see Garcia sign with another team after having a breakout season in 2021, but that is the risk they took. Garcia declined his portion of the mutual option and is looking for a big pay raise. With a lot of money already locked up in the outfield trio of Jackie Bradley Jr., Christian Yelich, and Lorenzo Cain, it’s hard to justify signing a fourth guy to a big deal.
