Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Daniel Norris, P

Norris pitched in 20.1 innings across 18 games for the Brewers last year and struggled with a 6.64 ERA, 6.81 FIP, 1.57 WHIP and 2.2 home runs per nine innings allowed. At 28-years-old, he’s already been in the majors for eight seasons but hasn’t quite figured it out. Milwaukee could sign him to a cheap deal and see if their pitching staff can work their magic with Norris.

Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Brett Anderson, P

Anderson has struggled with injuries throughout his entire career and he suffered one at the worst time following a strong season. He wasn’t on the roster for the NLDS due to an injury and that likely costs the Brewers big time. Still, he was very reliable when available and Milwaukee should bring him back.

Prediction: Returns

Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Hunter Strickland, P

Strickland found his footing in Milwaukee in 2021–his third team that season. In 36.1 innings, he had a 1.73 ERA and 0.908 WHIP. His career inconsistencies, however, could make it so the Brewers can sign him to a cheap deal in the offseason. And Strickland would be crazy not to accept after having the best portion of his career with the Brewers.

Predictions about Brewers entering free agency: Brad Boxberger, P

Out of all the pitchers on this list, Boxberger might be the highest priority (especially with the unknowns surrounding Josh Hader’s future). Boxberger was the Brewers’ seventh-inning guy a season ago and was as reliable as they come. It’s safe to say he’s earned a raise from the $1 million he made last year, but Milwaukee should happily pay it.
