Packers’ bold predictions for second half of season: Matt LaFleur wins Coach of the Year

Despite racking up consecutive 13-3 seasons and back-to-back appearances in the NFC Championship game, Matt LaFleur hasn’t been able to sniff the Coach of the Year award. In 2019, his first as the Packers’ head coach, the Ravens John Harbaugh won the award with 27.5 votes and LaFleur only received three. Kevin Stefanski of the Browns won it in 2020 with 25 votes while LaFleur once again received three.

That should flip on its head this season. LaFleur managed a bunch of offseason drama to perfection and has led the Packers to seven straight victories following a season-opening loss. If he can manage the team through a second bout of Rodgers and COVID-19 drama, he should win the vote unanimously.
