Players Packers will regret not trading for: Xavien Howard

Perhaps the reported best player available for trade, cornerback Xavien Howard, would’ve been a homerun trade for the Packers. Although he hasn’t quite played up to the elite standard he set in 2020, he would’ve given Green Bay an excellent one-two punch with Alexander. And in the event Alexander doesn’t return from injury this year, he would’ve been able to assume number one cornerback duties.

As it stands, the inconsistent rookie Erik Stokes is tasked with defending opposing team’s number one options a lot of the time. Although he’s had a strong showing he’s also had his fair share of rookie moments.

The Packers would’ve much preferred Howard and Alexander to match up with the likes of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin or Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods in the playoffs than the current alignment.
