Players Packers will regret not trading for: Evan Engram

We already discussed the hole at tight end, and Evan Engram would’ve been a great option to fill it. He’s in the final year of his contract, meaning Green Bay wouldn’t have to worry about fitting him into their 2022 salary cap. That’s both good and bad. The downside to that is he’d basically be a rental that probably would’ve cost a mid-round pick. General manager Brian Gutekunst may be more aggressive targeting free agents than his predecessor, but you can bet his bottom dollar he still values every single one of his draft picks.

Engram would’ve been a good receiving threat for Aaron Rodgers. With a lot of pressure and attention on Davante Adams, the Packers are hoping the returns of Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling can remove some of that. However, adding yet another receiving threat would’ve been a great move.
