Packers 2021 NFL trade deadline primer: Targets to avoid

Brandon Aiyuk, Wide Receiver, San Francisco 49ers

DeSean Jackson, Wide Receiver, Los Angeles Rams

Odell Beckham, Wide Receiver, Cleveland Browns

It will be very tempting to acquire a wide receiver at the deadline, but Green Bay must ensure they go after the right one.

The Packers were interested in Aiyuk in last year’s draft and the second-year pro put up a solid rookie campaign in 2020. However, he’s quickly fallen out of favor in San Francisco and that’s not usually a good sign.

As for DeSean Jackson, he’s demanded a trade out of Los Angeles and is likely to get released if they can’t find a willing partner. If Green Bay actually wants him they should just wait for his release to happen.

Last but not least is Odell Beckham Jr. The Packers have seemingly been connected to this guy for years now, but they’ve never pulled the trigger. Beckham is battling a few injuries right now and Green Bay should just stay away from everything he has to offer at this point.
