Tight ends Packers should target: Hayden Hurst, Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have their long-term tight end in rookie stud Kyle Pitts. Drafting Pitts in the first round has made former first-rounder Hayden Hurst expendable.

Hurst is a free agent next year so he wouldn’t hurt the Packers’ 2022 salary cap woes. He seemed to be figuring tight end life out last year when he had career-highs in receptions (56), receiving yards (571) and touchdowns (6). It would be interesting to see if he pick up where he left off with Aaron Rodgers at the helm instead of Matt Ryan.

The Falcons are clearly in rebuilding mode and could be persuaded to depart with Hurst. It shouldn’t cost the Packers much in draft capital either, making him an intriguing option.
