Packers: 3 fun wide receiver trades to make at deadline
The NFL’s trade deadline is fast approaching next Tuesday, November 2nd, at 3 pm CT. Since the Green Bay Packers have a Thursday night game this week, they’ll have a little extra time to assess their team and work the phones for any trades they feel necessary.
The Packers have been hit hard at wide receiver this week and will be extremely shorthanded for at least this week. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been on the injured reserve for a few weeks and it doesn’t look as if he’ll be activated this week. To make matters worse, Davante Adams and Allen Lazard were both placed in COVID-19 protocols.
Even with Adams and Lazard in the mix, Green Bay could use another difference-maker at the wide receiver position. Defenses pay all the attention to Adams and Green Bay has failed to get another receiver going consistently. These three players are unlikely to make their way to Titletown, but it would be fun if they did.
Here are 3 fun trades the Green Bay Packers could make at wide receiver by the trade deadline next week considering their current issues at the position.
Packers fun trade target: Odell Beckham Jr., Wide receiver, Cleveland Browns
For whatever reason, Odell Beckham Jr. and the Packers have been connected for some time–if for no other reason than generating topics on sports talk shows. Green Bay could use a playmaker like Beckham Jr. to offset the double teams Adams sees. The Packers also have a strong locker room that could help the diva acclimate quickly to their culture.
