Is this a trap game for the Green Bay Packers?

I have a second question, are trap games real? Aaron Rodgers doesn’t believe in them, and Matt LaFleur doesn’t think so either–every game needs to be taken seriously.

"“You can’t take anything for granted in this league,” LaFleur said via NBC Sports. “I think this is a really good football team that we’re about to play.”"

However, if trap games are real, then I have to imagine that this one falls into that category. Washington is 2-4 on the season and floundering, while on the horizon, the Green Bay Packers head to 6-0 Arizona on a short week’s rest for a Thursday night football matchup. After that, they’ll face Kansas City, Seattle, Minnesota, and the Los Angeles Rams.

Green Bay is entering the toughest stretch of their schedule, but before they do, they’ll have to make sure that they take care of Washington.

Will this be a big day for the Green Bay Packers offense?

Although the Green Bay Packers offense is certainly finding some success, they still haven’t found their stride from 2020 when they were the top scoring offense in football. Green Bay’s 24.0 points per game ranks 15th.

Now, in their defense, they’ve been up against some very good defenses. In terms of points per game allowed, New Orleans, Cincinnati, and Chicago all rank in the top-10, while Pittsburgh and San Francisco rank 12th and 15th, respectively. By DVOA, every one of those teams ranks in the top-12.

However, as I’ve already highlighted, this is a Washington defense that is allowing the most points per game this season and they rank 29th by DVOA. Washington has struggled against the pass, in particular, giving up nearly 310 passing yards per game this season–which again, ranks last.

Not only could this be a big day for the offense in general, but specifically Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams–as long as the offensive line holds up.
