Packers: Cornerback available for trade: Byron Jones, Miami Dolphins

Packers: Cornerback available for trade: Xavien Howard, Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are a complete mess, having just lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars–the Jaguars’ first win since Week 1 of 2020. Don’t be surprised if they begin to overhaul their roster at 1-5.

Both starting cornerbacks Byron Jones and Xavien Howard have been mentioned in trade talks this year and Green Bay should make a call about both of them. Howard has been in a contract battle with Miami that doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. They could offload him for a draft pick, granted they take on some of the salary they owe Howard for the rest of the season.

Jones, a former first-round pick, would be cheaper both financially and draft compensation-wise. He’s been a solid cornerback throughout his career and would help stabilize the position room for the Packers. He’s not flashy and wouldn’t be asked to replace Alexander. However, he’s a much better option than anyone not named Stokes.
