Packers who have exceeded expectations: De’Vondre Campbell

By far, the biggest positive surprise of the Packers’ season has been inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell. Following the precedent of signing inside linebackers to short deals, Green Bay brought in Campbell from free agency to see if he could help the young guys they had at the position.

However, Campbell clearly separated himself as the starter from Day 1 and has exceeded every expectation imaginable since.

The dude has been all over the field in both coverage and against the run. He’s flying sideline to sideline and playing with immense passion. PFF has him ranked as their fourth-best inside linebacker (out of 84). Campbell is a big reason why the defense has rebounded since their season-opener and is coming off their best performance of the year when they held the Cincinnati Bengals to just 22 points.
