Packers who have exceeded expectations: Yosh Nijman

Yosh Nijman was thrust into a starting spot at left tackle in Week 4 when Elgton Jenkins went down with an injury. It was a somewhat surprising call by the Packers’ coaching staff considering the other options on the team, but it’s turned out to be the right one so far.

Nijman hasn’t been nearly as spectacular as the two guys ahead of him on the depth chart–David Bakhtiari and Jenkins–but who is? He’s been solid and has allowed Green Bay to survive the two games he’s started (which have each come against great defensive fronts). With Jenkins set to return next week, Nijman might move back to the bench. However, he’s proven to be a valuable member of the line and someone who can step in when needed.
