Packers victory over Bengals: The grades

Offense: B-

It wasn’t the best performance for the offense, as they only finished with 25 points in the game (although, to be fair, the kicking team left 10 additional points on the field thanks to missed kicks). They continued their season-long struggle in the red zone where they only scored on two of their five trips.

Defense: A

Despite missing two of their best players, the defense came to play on Sunday. Sure, they gave up some boneheaded plays–like the touchdown at the end of the half–but they were solid overall. Their run defense was solid and they were able to get after Joe Burrow just enough. Mostly though, they are benefitting from a breakout season from Campbell who pulls it all together.

Special Teams: F

What can I say? When you thought they couldn’t get any worse from a season ago, this unit continues to surprise you. Opponents have clearly found a weakness on the right side of the Packers’ field goal unit and we’ll see if they can fix it. They continue to give up huge returns in the kickoff game as well. It’s safe to say this unit will cost the team at least one victory at some point this season.
