Running backs

Neither running back is putting up huge raw numbers, but they are each contributing in multiple ways. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon have proven to be dangerous in both the running and passing games, keeping defenses on their toes. They provide a nice one-two punch with Dillon filling in the Jamaal Williams’ role from a season ago. PFF has Jones graded as the 13th best running back (out of 57 eligible players) and Dillon as the 16th highest so far.

Wide receivers

Davante Adams has been the stud everyone expected him to be once again this season. He leads the team with 31 receptions and 373 yards (the next highest receiver is Randall Cobb with nine receptions for 127 yards), but only has one touchdown so far. Defenses have paid him plenty of attention and he constantly has to beat double teams if he wants the rock.

Cobb and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have stepped up as well, but the latter is out for at least two more weeks with a hamstring issue. Guys like Allen Lazard and Amari Rodgers–two players who haven’t lived up to expectations in the passing game–need to step up with the MVS’ sized void.
