Green Bay Packers punter Corey Bojorquez (7) gets off a kick during the fourth quarter of their game Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Green Bay Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17.Packers04 40 /

Corey Bojorquez–the Green Bay Packers have a punter

I know I’ve written about Bojorquez in these observations articles previously, but can you believe it, the Green Bay Packers have a punter. He averaged 46 yards on three punts against Pittsburgh with a long of 57 when the Packers were deep in their own territory, and another where he pinned the Steelers inside the five-yard line. We also can’t overlook his ability to kick directionally and pin returners along the sideline.

Kingsley Keke forces a fumble

To put it simply, it’s been a rough start to the season for Kingsley Keke, someone who many expected to make a Year 3 leap. But against the Steelers, there was one pass rush rep in particular where he pushed his blocker back and was able to knock the ball out of Roethlisberger’s hands.

It was a big moment in the game, and hopefully, that’s a play that propels Keke forward in the coming weeks. Someone along this interior needs to consistently step up next to Kenny Clark. Last week it was both Dean Lowry and Tyler Lancaster; this week, Keke made a nice play, but overall, the contributions are hit and miss.

Allen Lazard’s blocking ability

On the stat sheet, Allen Lazard has only five receptions on eight targets for 91 yards this season. However, he does so much for this offense that doesn’t show up the stat sheet–particularly his blocking ability.

There were a few runs outside and wide receiver screens where Lazard was the lead blocker, clearing space for the ball carrier to pick up additional yards. It’s not a glamorous job and it goes unnoticed, but it’s incredibly important.

Lazard is affectionately referred to as a “goon” or an “enforcer” by Matt LaFleur for good reason.
