Packers’ dramatic victory over 49ers: The good, the bad, the grade
Packers’ dramatic victory over 49ers: The Grade(s)
Offense: A-
The offense did what they had to against a talented 49ers’ defense. They jumped out to an early lead and continued to tack on points throughout the night. It wasn’t perfect and they left some chances on the field, but they were solid in both aspects (running and passing). If they can continue to play like this, they’ll be a dangerous team for opposing defenses.
Defense: C
It was a great start for this unit, as they kept the 49ers off the board until late in the first half when a special teams’ gaffe set them up with good field position. They faltered in the second half, however, giving up 21 points including a late touchdown possession that feature plenty of missed tackles. At the end of the day, it was a step in the right direction and a block to build off moving forward.
Special Teams: B-
The Packers’ kicking game is one of their strengths this year. Between Crosby continuously knocking down huge kicks and punter Corey Bojorquez’s directional punting, it’s something to build off. However, they still leave a lot to be desired in the coverage department. They gave up another huge return late in the first half that allowed the 49ers to score a late touchdown.
