The Green Bay Packers are nothing, if not entertaining. After jumping out to a 17-0 lead in the first half, they watched the San Francisco 49ers slowly chip away until they eventually took a 28-27 lead with 37 seconds remaining. However, that was far too much time for Aaron Rodgers and company as they quickly got into field goal range and let Mason Crosby do the rest.

It was clearly a game that meant a lot to this team as the players raucously celebrated on the field, Aaron Rodgers fist pumped in excitement on the sideline, and Matt LaFleur exchanged cold greetings with Kyle Shannahan–the 49ers head coach–at mid-field.

As we’re reviewing the aftermath of the contest, let’s check out the good, the bad and the grade for the Packers.

Let’s take a look at what went well, what still needs improvement, and grade the Green Bay Packers in their dramatic victory over the 49ers.

Packers’ dramatic victory over 49ers: The Good: Davante Adams, game-winning drives, makeshift offensive line, pressuring the quarterback, Kenny Clark

Davante Adams was unstoppable on Sunday night. Well, nearly unstoppable. He was almost knocked out of the game on a hit over the middle that was highly questionable. However, he somehow bounced back and caught both of Rodgers’ passes on their game-winning drive. Overall, he finished the night with 12 receptions for 132 yards and one touchdown.

The Packers have one of the best late-game combinations in the NFL and are a scary opponent for any team to see with a one-score lead and time dwindling. Rodgers is one of the very best at getting his team into position to win and Mason Crosby is equally as adept at hitting those huge field goals. Green Bay has the utmost confidence in Crosby who delivered yet another huge kick in his career.

Green Bay’s makeshift offensive line–missing Elgton Jenkins at left tackle–also held up in this game, giving up only one sack. Meanwhile, Green Bay got after Jimmy Garoppolo, bringing him down three times. Lastly, Kenny Clark was a beast in this game. He disrupted the line of scrimmage time and time again and is having a terrific start to the year.
