Ranking Bucks’ roster: 18: Georgios Kalaitzakis

Georgios Kalaitzakis was the 60th pick in this year’s draft and signed a guaranteed contract despite the Bucks’ 54th pick, Sandro Mamukelashvili signing a two-way deal. Although Mamukelashvili is the better player (at least in my eyes), Kalaitzakis was apparently able to use his Greek connections to wiggle his way onto the roster.

Kalaitzakis is a 6-foot-8 combo guard from Greece who played over there professionally. He played sparingly–very sparingly–and leaves a lot to be desired in his game. He can do a little bit of everything, but doesn’t necessarily have an elite aspect to his game. He’s fairly athletic and can use his size to overwhelm smaller guards. He’s also shown the ability to slash to the rim and be an adequate defender in Greece.

When Milwaukee has everyone healthy, he’ll spend just about every game inactive and at the end of the bench. However, at just 22-years-old, the Bucks hope to develop him into a serviceable end of the rotation type player.
