Packers stock market: Bounce-back performances trending up in Week 3
Trending down: Kevin King, pass rush, Za’Darius Smith’s health, defensive linemen not named Kenny Clark, Lucas Patrick, Royce Newman, Chandon Sullivan
Kevin King might not have his starting job for long. Stokes played more and more in this contest. The veteran gave up three receptions on four targets for 61 yards. He’s not even close to receivers most of the time.
Pass rush: Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff had all day to throw in the first half. The Packers’ four-man pass rush hasn’t been able to get after quarterbacks this year, forcing them to send extra pass rushers.
Za’Darius Smith was placed on the injured reserve last week, meaning he’ll be out at least three weeks. He hasn’t been able to get his back into a good spot and hopefully this time off will help him.
Defensive linemen not named Kenny Clark: Clark was the highest-rated Packer in this game according to PFF. The three lowest? Tyler Lancaster, Kinglsey Keke, and TJ Slaton. This is becoming a big problem for the Packers.
Lucas Patrick: Although he was active for this game, he didn’t get on the field for a single snap. Depending on what happens this week in practice, he could be in jeopardy of losing his starting spot altogether.
Royce Newman is showing his rookie struggles. He was called for a questionable hold in the redzone, but also gave up a sack and two more pressures. He’s had some flashes, but there’s still work he needs to clean up.
Chandon Sullivan has flown somewhat under the radar of criticism thanks to King taking a bunch of heat. However, he’s another weak link for Green Bay and teams target him in the slot. He gave up three receptions on three targets for 43 yards.
