Available linebackers for Packers: Avery Williamson, inside linebacker

The Packers’ inside linebackers were rarely seen or heard from in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Saints. They were far too often handled in the running game and made even less of an impact in the passing department. There’s not much hope things will get better as the season progresses.

Avery Williamson is perhaps the best available free agent inside linebacker at the moment. He’s recorded 100 plus tackles in four of his six seasons and will immediately help Green Bay against the run–their Achillies heel throughout the Matt LaFleur era. He’s worth taking a look at considering the poor starts to the season for De’Vondre Campbell and Krys Barnes.
