Trending down: Everybody else

Let’s begin with the coaching staff. Matt LaFleur’s offense was uninspiring against the Saints, as he ran a bunch of predictable stuff. He also abandoned the run very quickly, contributing to a lousy offensive day. Joe Barry was Charmin soft with his coverages, giving New Orleans’ wide receivers plenty of space to work with.

Offensively, Rodgers was right there with LaFleur as one of the main culprits. He got away from the quick passes and reads that made this offense so dangerous a year ago. Instead, he tried to play hero ball and it only made things worse.

It’s not as if Green Bay was any better on defense. They bled yards and points consistently, and never really made it difficult for the Saints. New Orleans could do whatever they wanted whether it be via ground or through the air. The entire team is trending down heading into Week 2.
