Players Packers need more from: Krys Barnes

The Packers’ defense was equally as awful as their offense. And it all stemmed from their inability (once again) to stop the run.

New Orleans didn’t necessarily have any huge plays on the ground. Instead, they racked up five, six, seven yards on every carry and constantly put themselves in good situations with the sticks. Their 4.4 yards per rush seems low considering how easy everything came for them.

At the heart of it all, was the Packers’ poor play at inside linebacker (are you having deja vu?). I probably should’ve included both Krys Barnes and De’Vondre Cambell here, but we’ll focus on Barnes for now. He was awful against the run–struggling to get off his blocks, to read where the ball-carrier was going, to make plays in the backfield, you name it. Green Bay must have Barnes step up his game in Year 2 if they want to achieve their ultimate goal this season.
