Wisconsin football crystal ball prediction: Badgers maintain lead for the victory

This is a tough game to open up against, and, hopefully, the Badgers’ crowd will insert tons of life and energy into the game. It’s the first time they’re playing in front of fans at home since November of 2019, after all.

The Badgers are the more well-rounded team even if they lack top-end talent. Wisconsin should be able to use that overall talent to their advantage and build an early lead. Penn State won’t go away, as they have more than enough talent to walk away with a victory in this one.

However, Mertz and company will use a diverse offensive attack including a traditional running game, screens, and short passing game to keep the Nittany Lions on their heels. After building an early lead, they’ll hold off a comeback late and leave Camp Randall 1-0.
