The Wisconsin football team finally returns to action in front of fans at Camp Randall Stadium when they host the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday. With both teams ranked in the top 20, we should be in for a doozy.

It’s always hard to predict how the college football season will turn out, especially when there’s significant turnover from season to season. Still, we do our best to look into the crystal ball and make some predictions about how this game will turn out.

As the Wisconsin football team opens up their season against Penn State, let’s make some bold predictions for what will happen during the game.

Wisconsin football crystal ball prediction: Badgers’ defensive line gets gashed

The Badgers’ defensive line needs to be at their best on Saturday. Penn State loves to run a number of zone rushing plays combined with the occasional option with quarterback Sean Clifford. Clifford is a dangerous runner himself and can bust a big one if the defensive line and outside linebackers aren’t disciplined in their assignments.

My prediction is that Wisconsin’s defensive line consisting of Matt Henningsen, Keeanu Benton and Isaiah Mullens will struggle with Penn State’s more traditional running attack. This is one of the bigger question marks on the team and they must prove themselves with an early-season test. Penn State proved their ability to pound the rock last year and has a very good offensive line.
